Employee Spotlight: Kate Renda

July 10, 2019

New year, new Employee Spotlight. We’re excited to kick off the new year with our superstar Digital Analytics Specialist, Kate Renda.

Kate came to Cosmitto directly from The University of Pittsburgh with a double major in Business Administration and Marketing. She has lots of experience in social media writing, and design — and is an indispensable part of our team. While it might take a moment for her to open up, her sense of humor is impeccable, and her kindness is apparent almost immediately. Kate makes all of her clients feel at ease not only through her excellent communication skills but also through her top-notch writing and execution of marketing tactics.

Originally from a town in Eastern Pennsylvania, Kate is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from her equally hilarious family. (Editor’s Note: Her dad, Bob Renda is somewhat of a Snapchat sensation. Her mom, Sue Renda, is followed by The Tonight Show on Twitter. And, her brother, Peter Renda, created an Instagram for his piglet, Neil Porker)

A few little known facts about Kate: When she was a child she wanted crutches so bad that she asked for them for her birthday (Editor’s Note: Yes, she got them. And yes, she can do pretty cool tricks with them), she and her best friend from childhood once created a life-sized hamster wheel to play in, and, when she would get home from elementary school, out of all of the snacks in the world she could choose, she picked raw noodles.

I’ll let Kate take it from here!

Name: Kate Renda

Why did you want to work at Cosmitto?: I was about to graduate from college with a degree in Marketing and a digital marketing agency felt like a natural fit for me!

The thing you are most passionate about?: Travel. Recently I decided I want to visit all of the National Parks. 9 down, 49 to go…

Favorite Twitter account to follow: @billyeichner: He is my Internet hero.

Favorite blog you’ve read recently: Pigeonblog.wordpress.com Yes, it’s a blog from a pigeon’s point of view. His name, you ask? Brian. His bio? “A bona fide urban pigeon telling it how it is for the pigeons of London.” He delivers some surprisingly hot takes, let me tell you!

Coolest place you’ve ever been: Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona. If you’ve never heard of it, google it! You won’t be disappointed. (Editor’s Note: Here’s Kate in Antelope Canyon in case you didn’t want to google it! It really is quite spectacular.)

One thing you could eat every day: Artichokes. I pretty much do eat them every day. (Editor’s Note: It’s true! She loves a good ‘choke, as well as olives — but she hates mushrooms.)

One song you could listen to on endless repeat: Somebody Else by The 1975. (Or Sorry by Justin Bieber. I’m not sorry!)

Coffee, tea, or other?: Coffee. Don’t ask me how much I spent at Starbucks last year. (Editor’s Note: I’m pretty sure the people at the Starbucks across the street just have her order ready before she even leaves to go get it.)

Best social campaign you’ve seen recently: Taco Bell: Taco emoji engine.

Who do you hope to be in 5 years?: I admire my mom more than anyone, so if I could be even half as awesome as she is in 5 years, I would be happy.

Favorite thing about Pittsburgh: The restaurant scene is fire. Truly a foodie’s dream.

Best costume you’ve ever dressed up as: My best friend and I used to make extremely elaborate Halloween costumes in middle school. One of our biggest undertakings was a centaur costume.

What did you want to be when you were 5 years old?: A veterinarian. All of my beanie babies were covered in Band-Aids.

Weirdest Thing You’ve Ever Purchased: When I was a kid, I bought a leash for my pet guinea pig that hated physical activity. It didn’t work out well.

Pierogies or Primantis?: Pierogies!

First thing you’d do if you won the lottery: Buy an apartment in London.

Biggest fear: Insects. I don’t like any of them. Not even butterflies. Kate makes all of her clients feel at ease not only through her excellent communication skills but also through her top-notch writing and execution of marketing tactics.
