Employee Spotlight: Trevor Lake

March 24, 2020

Though he’s only been with us a few weeks, we can’t imagine life at Cosmitto without Trevor! He stole our hearts right away with his baked goods and infectious laugh. If you need a movie recommendation or someone to vent to, Trevor is your guy!

Trevor grew up in the Beaver County area, New Brighton to be exact –– about 40 minutes northwest of Downtown, Pittsburgh. He attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania where he got his degree, a B.S. in Communications: Public Relations/Advertising/Corporate Communication concentration. Before Cosmitto, he worked in Healthcare with Cigna right here in Pittsburgh. We’re so happy to have him as part of our team! Get to know him & check out his Q&A below!

Q: Why did you want to work at Cosmitto?

A: I always knew I wanted to work with an agency. The company culture is so open, and I knew this was a role where I would be continually learning.

Q: What’s your favorite aspect of your job as an Account Manager?

A: I love that I’m able to do what I love to do every day. Whether it’s writing social or blog posts, I’m constantly learning and finding new creative ways to post.

Q: What’s your dream job?

A: That’s really hard to say. I would love to one day move out to Los Angeles and in some way work in social media for television or film. I’d also like to work with causes related to LGBTQ+ issues.

Q: What’s the best social campaign you’ve seen recently?

A: The New York Times had a ‘The Truth is Worth it: Resolve’ campaign that highlighted the importance of factual information in a time of anti-press rhetoric.

Q: What are your favorite Twitter accounts to follow?

A: Danny DeVito, Anthony Fantano, Cher, Lady Gaga, and Jamie Lee Curtis. What a range, right?

Q: Where is the coolest place you’ve ever been?

A: I went to Aruba when I was younger. It was my first time out of the country, and I was sunburned 99% of it, but nonetheless, I loved it! I actually went the same week Natalie Holloway disappeared. I also saw Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 6/7 nights we stayed there.

Q: What’s one thing you could eat every day?

A: Potatoes. You can never go wrong with a potato. You can mash, boil, bake, fry…what can’t you do with a potato? I do prefer french fries!

Q: What are some of your favorite movies? Name a few.

A: I like all genres but love anything horror or A24! Some of my favorites are the Halloween franchise (Halloween II to be exact), Hereditary, Pulp Fiction, and Moonlight. Jennifer’s Body was ahead of its time.

Q: What are some of your favorite books?

A: I’ve always loved the Harry Potter series. I read more magazines than books. I like Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly.

Q: What’s one song you could listen to on endless repeat?

A: Passion Pit – Little Secrets or Childish Gambino – Redbone

Q: Coffee, tea, or other?

A: Coffee. Macchiatos to be exact!

Q: What would your patronus take the shape of?

A: I would think of a manatee. I’ve always loved these slow sea cows. They just float around all day minding their business eating seagrass.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Pittsburgh?

A: The sense of community is incredible in Pittsburgh. Everyone is happy to be here and tries to help one another out.

Q: Pierogies or Primantis?

A: Primantis

Q: What’s the first thing you’d do if you won the lottery?

A: How much am I winning here? I’d start with my student loans, and then budget from there. If it’s a good amount of dough, I’d probably plan an elaborate trip.

Q: What is your biggest fear?

A: The open ocean. I refuse to go in water past my neck to this day. The ocean just keeps going down and down, never stopping. Things get bigger the further you go down. Just a whole lot of nope.

Q: What are three things still left on your bucket list?

A:

  1. Travel more in general. I want to see France, Thailand, and Australia.
  2. Meet Jamie Lee Curtis. I’ve been obsessed with her since I was a child. It WILL happen.
  3. I’ve always wanted to go off-grid, like camp out in the middle of nowhere for a week, no phone no anything.

Q: Who do you hope to be in 5 years?

A: Oh, god I’ll be 30. I hope to be a better version of myself, and hopefully have a chic life with a dog and husband. I also hope I don’t have to start coloring my hair and I’d like to have a good fridge.

If you need a movie recommendation or someone to vent to, Trevor is your guy!
